Button Design

Use Button Design to manage action buttons for one form.

What You Can Do

In Button Design, you can:

  • create custom buttons
  • edit existing buttons
  • delete buttons
  • enable or disable buttons
  • control button order
  • control display mode
  • assign page scopes
  • connect buttons to Studio scripts
  • configure display conditions

The current button design flow also distinguishes between:

  • preset buttons
  • custom buttons
  • different placements in list, detail, form, child-table, and relation-search areas

Supported Button Areas

Buttons can be placed in different areas, including:

  • list header
  • list batch actions
  • list row actions
  • detail header
  • create or edit header
  • child-table related action areas
  • relation search modal areas

Built-In And Custom Buttons

The page supports both:

  • built-in preset buttons
  • custom form buttons

Built-in buttons cover common actions such as search, filter, new, save, submit, print, export, and delete.

Important Rules

  • Row actions support only a limited number of exposed buttons
  • Button order must not conflict within the same scope
  • Button editing depends on the current user's form button permissions

Common Use Cases

Use Button Design when you want to:

  • expose a custom business action in the form
  • change whether a button is exposed or collapsed
  • control which pages show a button
  • run a Studio script before or after a button action
