Background Operations
This category lists the 2 Runtime system commands under system.operation.. Currently, system.form.schema.delete submits a background operation and returns its state. Acceptance does not mean deletion has completed.
1. Retrieve an operation
Full name: system.operation.get
sl system operation get --operation-id <uuid> [--json]
operationId (required) is the UUID returned by submission. The response contains operationId, command, status, attemptCount, maxAttempts, result, errorCode, createdAt, and updatedAt. Only the operation owner can retrieve it. Risk: Read.
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
queued | Accepted and waiting for execution |
running | Execution in progress |
retrying | Business writes rolled back; waiting for another attempt |
completed | Finished; inspect result |
failed | Failed; inspect errorCode |
cancelled | Cancelled |
2. Cancel an operation
Full name: system.operation.cancel
sl system operation cancel --operation-id <uuid> [--json]
operationId (required) is the operation UUID. Only the operation owner can cancel it. Risk: Write. Only queued and retrying operations can be cancelled; running atomic work must finish or roll back. Terminal operations return their saved state.
Closing Luna or losing the browser connection does not cancel an accepted operation. After reconnecting, query the original operation ID to avoid submitting the business command again.
