Using Forms
Forms define the business records that users create, edit, search, print, and analyze in Soln. In form management, administrators create form models, control whether forms are available, and enter design pages for fields, layouts, buttons, and print templates.
Form List
Open Forms from the Work area.
The left panel shows all forms that the current user can manage. You can search by form name, API name, or form type.
| Area | Description |
|---|---|
| Search Forms | Filters the form list by keyword |
| New Form | Opens the form creation window |
| Form List | Shows form name, API name, icon, and enabled status |
| Menu Groups | Opens the menu grouping configuration for user-side navigation |
Click a form in the list to view its details on the right.
Form Details
After selecting a form, the details panel shows the form name, API name, description, icon, created time, and updated time.
The top-right actions provide entry points for form design and management:
| Action | Description |
|---|---|
| Field Design | Configure fields, field types, validation, display, and field behavior |
| Layout Design | Configure page layout and runtime form arrangement |
| Button Design | Configure form buttons and related actions |
| Configure print templates for the selected form | |
| More | Enable, disable, copy, or delete the selected form |
Only actions allowed by the current user's permissions are shown.
Create A Form
- Click New Form
- Enter the Form Name
- Enter the API Name
- Choose an Icon
- Add a Description when needed
- Click Create Form

| Form Name | Yes | Display name used in the form list and runtime pages |
| API Name | Yes | Stable technical name used by integrations, scripts, and form data APIs |
| Icon | Yes | Icon shown in form menus and lists |

New forms are created as custom forms. After creation, configure fields before enabling the form for users.
Edit A Form
- Select a form in the list
- Click the edit action in the form list
- Update the form name, icon, description, or enabled setting
- Click Save Changes
The API name cannot be changed after the form is created. If the form is a system model form, it cannot be edited from this page.
Copy A Form
Use copy when a new form should start from an existing form's fields and configuration.
- Select the source form
- Open More
- Click Copy Form
- Confirm the copied form name and API name
- Choose how field API names should be copied
- Click Copy Form
| Field API Name Mode | Description |
|---|---|
| Copy field codes as-is | Keeps field API names from the source form |
| Regenerate field codes | Creates new field API names for the copied form |
The copied form is disabled by default. Review fields, layout, buttons, and print templates before enabling it.
Enable Or Disable A Form
Use the More menu to enable or disable a selected form.
| Status | Effect |
|---|---|
| Enabled | Users can access the form from runtime menus when they have permission |
| Disabled | The form is hidden from normal runtime use but remains available for management |
Before enabling a form, configure at least one visible and enabled identifier field. Soln uses the identifier field to display records clearly in lists, references, and related pages.
System model forms stay enabled and cannot be disabled from this page.
Delete A Form
- Select a disabled form
- Open More
- Click Delete Form
- Confirm deletion
A form must be disabled before it can be deleted. System model forms cannot be deleted.
Delete forms only when the form and its data are no longer needed by runtime pages, reports, or business processes.
Enter Design Pages
Form management is the starting point for related design pages.
| Design Page | Use It To |
|---|---|
| Field Design | Add fields, configure field behavior, and define the form data model |
| Layout Design | Arrange fields and sections for runtime create, edit, and view pages |
| Button Design | Configure business actions users can trigger from the form |
| Create and maintain printable templates for form records |
Select the form first, then click the corresponding action in the details panel.

Menu groups control how forms, apps, and dashboards appear in user-side navigation.
- Click Menu Groups at the bottom of the form list
- Click New Group
- Enter the group name
- Choose the group icon
- Add forms, apps, or dashboards to the group
- Drag groups or menu items to adjust order
- Click Save
| Item Type | Description |

Items that are not added to a group remain in Ungrouped menu items. You can also adjust the order of ungrouped items.
