This-Computer Environment: macOS
Use the Soln installer matching your processor: Apple silicon or Intel. You do not need Homebrew, a separate Node.js or Cosign installation, or OpenSSL.
1. Install and start Docker Desktop
- Download Docker Desktop for Mac for your processor and follow its installation instructions.
- Open Docker Desktop and wait for its engine to finish starting.
- Keep Docker running while installing and using the local workspace. Soln currently uses Docker Desktop on Mac.
Use a macOS version supported by both your Docker Desktop version and the Soln installer.
2. Prepare encrypted storage
For a deployment on the startup disk, open System Settings → Privacy & Security → FileVault and enable FileVault. If you select an external disk, encrypt that volume separately; enabling FileVault on the startup disk does not encrypt an external disk.
Choose a folder on the encrypted volume with space for tenant data and backups. Docker also needs room on the disk storing its images. The Soln installer checks encryption on the selected deployment location.
3. Open Soln and install
Follow This-Computer Installation. Installation prepares its own Node.js and Cosign tools and generates the local HTTPS certificate. Approve the certificate trust prompt if macOS displays one.
If the first step reports that Docker is not ready, confirm that Docker Desktop has finished starting and click Check again. If encryption detection fails, check the selected volume rather than only the startup disk.
