Design Notes
Field Design manages the field model of one form. You can add fields, control field status, set the identifier field, and configure member rules for supported forms.
Fields define what data each record can store. They are also used later by layouts, runtime pages, imports, reports, formulas, approvals, and integrations.
Open Field Design
- Open Work > Forms
- Select a form
- Click Field Design in the form details area
The page opens for the selected form. The title shows the current form name.
Create A Field
- Click the create action in the top bar
- Choose a field type
- Enter the field name
- Confirm or regenerate the API name
- Configure field-specific settings
- Save the field
Field names are shown to users. API names are stable technical identifiers used by data, scripts, formulas, and integrations.

Managing Fields
You can edit, enable, disable, hide, search, and delete fields from this page.
Double-click a field row to edit it when the current user has field management permission.
System model fields can be restricted. The page hides or blocks actions that are not allowed for the selected form.
Summary and dynamic formula fields may trigger recalculation jobs after changes. When a job is running, the field list shows its progress.
Identifier Field
Each enabled form should keep one visible and enabled identifier field.
Soln uses the identifier field as the main record label in lists, references, and related pages.
Use Identifier to choose the identifier field. Member, department, and organization fields cannot be used as the identifier. The selected identifier field must stay visible and enabled.
Member Rules
For supported forms, Member Rules maps business fields to record subjects.
Use member rules when member, department, or organization field values should affect which people or structures are related to a record.
