Required Fields

Required Fields manages fields that must be filled in the current layout.

Use this when a field is optional in the data model but required in a specific page scenario, such as a create page or edit page for a certain audience.

Add A Required Field

Open Required Fields and click Add Required Field.

Choose the field that should be required in this layout. The requirement applies when the runtime page matches this layout.

Remove A Required Field

Use the remove action to cancel the layout-level requirement.

Removing a field from Required Fields does not remove field-level required rules configured in Field Design.

Layout Required Vs Field Required

Layout-level required fields and field-level required fields serve different purposes:

Configuration	Scope
Field required in Field Design	Applies to the field as part of the form model
Required in Layout Design	Applies only when the current layout is matched

Use layout-level required fields when the requirement depends on the page type, scope, or layout.
